Leni has 29 years of experience in nonprofit management and consulting, as well as in academic teaching and research. Her experience includes program and organizational assessment, planning, development, and management; fundraising; government relations; and partnership development. With a strong background in nonprofit administration, Leni is especially interested in understanding the visions that motivate organizations and helping groups develop the practical, well-founded strategies needed to reach them.
Prior to joining Nonprofit Impact, Leni worked for a national conservation organization for 21 years. She held a series of positions at the program, director and science director levels. She also served in a national director position, overseeing regional science offices that supported broad-scale planning activities throughout the organization. Leni also assisted with the development of a spin-off organization, and later served as the liaison between the two entities.
Leni has a doctorate in aquatic ecology for Michigan State University and a bachelor's degree in zoology from the University of California Berkeley. leni@nonprofitimpact.com
